Topic: Mr. Dick Pugh, Field Scientist at Cascadia Meteorite Laboratory of Portland State University, share with us about "Rocks from the Sky," as well as having hands-on specimens for us to observe. Mr. Pugh, a former high school educator from Cleveland High School in Portland, Oregon, and is one of three professionals nationwide who specializes in meteorites.

Topic: the Asian Health Services Center (AHSC) will give us a tour of their brand new facilities and then provide us a presentation on what they do. AHSC has opened their center for us to view before their grand opening, which is on the 3rd Saturday of October. Therefore, we are moving our meeting this month to the 2nd Saturday to accommodate their most gracious offer.

Topic: This month we were asked to help the Portland Chinatown Museum officially move their offices into the museum space. Jackie Peterson-Loomis and Jennifer Feng, both CSEPA members, need our help organizing, packing, moving and setting up their new offices, which will require about 2-3 hours of our time. While we assist them in their move, we have the wonderful and rare opportunity to see the new museum in it's beginning stages. Please dress casual as we will be helping them pack up, load up and move their office belongings. Immediately following our services, we will walk to Golden Horse Restaurant for a simple dinner, which has been graciously arranged by Shirley Yee.

Topic: This month's presentation is titled, "Agent Orange and Dioxin, An Overview by: John C. Ratliff, CSP, CIH, MSPH, Former USAF Pararescueman, 1967-1977," it contains a chronology of Agent Orange, a map showing where it was sprayed, the chemical components (2,4-D and 2,4,5-T) with an explanation of the chemicals, and how dioxin contamination got into the mix, the mechanisms of action for dioxin, and "Take-aways" for those who may have been exposed. By the way, it was not only those who served in Vietnam who were potentially exposed, but also those who were on the ground at Eglin AFB, Florida, where they did the testing of Agent Orange, and the DMZ in Korea, where it was also used
